Send a Guest Message - SMS
Guest Messaging gives front-office staff the power to communicate with guests through their preferred method of communication. ALICE supports sending of Short Messaging Service or SMS through ALICE Guest Messaging.
User Type & Roles
To perform this action in ALICE, the user must have at least Employee User Type access.
The user must also have the following settings within โRolesโ enabledโ
Access to โSMS/Chatโ tab.
Things to Consider
Accounts that have purchased Guest Messaging will see an โSMSโ tab. This is where guest text messages are managed.
The first time a message is sent to a guest, the guest will also receive an automated compliance message allowing them to opt-out of future communication.
โTo no longer receive messages, please reply with STOP. Msg & Data rates may apply.โSMS (Short Messaging Service) messages can contain a maximum of 160 characters per segment. Use the character counter to view when a message exceeds the 160 character count and will be sent as multiple segments. Learn more about SMS Character Count and Segment Count.
Steps
Select โNew Messageโ.
Type the guestโs name in the search box and select the guest. If the guest does not exist in your hotel, you are able to add the guest by clicking on the โ+Add Guestโ link next to the search box.
Type a message or select a message template by selecting โChoose Templateโ. Messages have a limit of 160 characters per segment. Learn more about SMS Character Count and Segment Count.
After choosing a template, the message will autofill the text field. The message may be edited as needed.
Send now - Select โSend Messageโ at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
