Send XML Metadata File to ALICE for Single Sign-On

Configuring Single Sign-On requires exchanging the open standard authentication protocols that define how identity providers (IdPs) and service providers (SPs) will exchange authentication information provided.

To initiate the SSO configuration, provide a SAML 2.0 Identity Provider metadata  XML file.

Things to Consider

  • To configure SSO in ALICE, a SAML 2.0 Identity Provider metadata  XML file must be provided to ALICE Staff. This file describes the SSO SAML 2.0 Identity provider details, among other authentication information, and is necessary to configure SSO.

  • The information contained in the metadata file is not sensitive information and can be sent via email. However, if a more secure file transfer method is desired, please use WeTransfer which will allow for a one-time, secure file transfer. This is the preferred method for transferring SSO metadata files from the Hotel to ALICE.

  • Once the XML file has been received by ALICE Staff, allow 1 week for the file to be reviewed and uploaded by staff. (Further configuration may be required.)

Steps

  1. Navigate to WeTransfer.com

  2. Upload your file and fill out required fields as necessary:
The file recipient can be either your CSM or the Actabl support team.

  3. Click on Transfer button to share file.

  4. Check your email for a confirmation code verifying your identity as the ‘sender’.

  5. An email will be sent to the Actabl team and we will be able to access the file for 1 week. All sharing links expire after 1 week of sent date.

How secure is WeTransfer?
Privacy and security standards are compliant with the high level of personal data protection required by GDPR and the Dutch UAVG (Uitvoeringswet Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming). They are ISO 27001 certified.

Your files are encrypted when they are being transferred (TLS) and when they are stored (AES-256). Once your files are safely stored, they can only be accessed using the unique links sent to the sender and recipient. They work exclusively with trusted partners such as AWS and Stripe.

The security of our platform is detailed in their Privacy & Cookie statement.

Can I share my file securely with another tool?
Absolutely; let the CSM or support agent know you will be transferring your metadata file securely via another provider, along with proper documentation on how to access the file via this tool. Security is always our priority and want to be flexible to enterprise solutions.
