QR Codes are available for customers who have purchased ALICE Preventative Maintenance and allow the engineering teams to quickly access Inventory Item (equipment) information. With this feature, the team is able to:
Scan a QR code to link it to an Inventory Item (equipment asset).
Scan a QR code to bring up Inventory Item (equipment asset) details and associated tickets from the ALICE Staff app (mobile).
User Type & Roles
To perform this action in ALICE, the user must have at least Employee User Type access.
The user must also have the following settings within “Roles” enabled”
Access to “Tickets” and “Logbooks” tabs.
Access to “View” and “Edit” Tickets in the Preventative Maintenance Facility.
Things to Consider
QR Codes must be unique for each Inventory Item (equipment asset).
QR Codes should be affixed to the Inventory Item (equipment asset) prior to linking so that the QR code is linked correctly.
ALICE Staff app requires access to the device camera to link/scan QR Codes. Learn more about compatible devices in the approved device guide.
Attempting to link a QR code that has already been associated with another inventory item will result in a failure message.
QR Codes must be linked through mobile. Accessing Inventory Items (equipment assets) from mobile requires them to be linked to an associated ticket first.
