Link or Scan QR Codes to Equipment Inventory Items -Mobile
QR Codes are available for customers who have purchased ALICE Preventative Maintenance and allow the engineering teams to quickly access Inventory Item (equipment) information. With this feature, the team is able to:
Scan a QR code to link it to an Inventory Item (equipment asset).
Scan a QR code to bring up Inventory Item (equipment asset) details and associated tickets from the ALICE Staff app (mobile).
User Type & Roles
To perform this action in ALICE, the user must have at least Employee User Type access.
The user must also have the following settings within “Roles” enabled”
Access to “Tickets” and “Logbooks” tabs.
Access to “View” and “Edit” Tickets in the Preventative Maintenance Facility.
Things to Consider
QR Codes must be unique for each Inventory Item (equipment asset).
QR Codes should be affixed to the Inventory Item (equipment asset) prior to linking so that the QR code is linked correctly.
ALICE Staff app requires access to the device camera to link/scan QR Codes. Learn more about compatible devices in the approved device guide.
Attempting to link a QR code that has already been associated with another inventory item will result in a failure message.
QR Codes must be linked through mobile. Accessing Inventory Items (equipment assets) from mobile requires them to be linked to an associated ticket first.

Link QR Code to Equipment Inventory Items
Steps
Search for the equipment inventory item in the ticket list. To find the equipment inventory item more easily, use the search bar to enter the equipment name.
Open the ticket to access Ticket Details.
Tap the equipment inventory item name to access equipment details.
Ensure the equipment inventory item matches the equipment with the QR code intended to be linked.
Tap “Link Code” to access the device camera to scan the code.
Align the QR Code within the frame to scan the code.
If an Inventory Item (equipment asset) is linked successfully, a notification banner will appear.
If an Inventory Item (equipment asset) is not linked successfully, an error message will appear.
The Inventory Item (equipment asset) details will display a message when it has been linked to a code.
Scan QR Code to Access Equipment Inventory Item Details
Steps
Scan the QR Code in ALICE Staff app (mobile) to jump to Inventory Item details, including a list of tickets associated to the Inventory Item.
Tap “Scan” in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen to open the device’s camera.
Scan the QR code associated with the Inventory Item.
